Ambassador Baptist College of Lattimore, NC is a Bible college training men and women for full time service to God and many of us wanted to show a solidarity of support for the men and women who sacrifice and serve our country by wearing red on this particular Friday. Many of us make it a habit to show that support by wearing red shirts each Friday. The Leatherneck Warriors are a Senior "C" Class dragon boat race team from The Villages, Fl., that competes throughout Central and So. Fl. and into Ga. While we're a team that is predisposed to support the US Marine Corps, we paddle in support of ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL. We wear our "red shirts" every day we practice and compete, Fridays included. The emblem on the front is a variation the 1st Marine Division's "blue diamond" and we fly the flag of the Corps' "Eagle, Globe and Anchor." Through our participation with the ANY MARINE Program, over the past year and a half the Warriors have had the opportunity to ship over 700 lbs. of "goods" to multiple Marine unit deployed to Afghanistan. It is our privilege to be able to recognize those that have served, as well as those who continue to serve Our Country!

Shasta Family YMCA in Redding, CA. Our Y has actually had “wear red Friday” implemented for over 5 years. About that time a local radio station promoted that Redding should wear red on Friday in support of the troops. Our Y joined in and staff has been wearing red on Fridays ever since.

Employers Choice Plus, Inc. located in West Chester, Ohio, along with its sister companies Workstar Health Services, Inc., and Employers Choice Plus Payroll Services, Inc. recently adopted a Marine serving in Afghanistan as part of its Enhanced Community Partnership program. The business adopted Lance Corporal Timothy W. Chow, II, who is with the 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines, or otherwise called the “Gunslingers.” ECP’s family of companies filled six boxes, weighing a combined 98 pounds, with more than 245 food and recreational items for Chow and his unit. As part of the packaging process, the employees wore their red shirts to show their support for the troops. Earlier this summer ECP’s owner, John Cacaro, was given the Patriot Award from the U.S. Department of Defense and the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for his support of an employee Bryan Moore, who is in the Ohio Army National Guard.

In 2008, the son of a Seminole employee gave his life for his country while serving in Iraq. As a way to remember our fallen hero, Walls of Honor were erected at each of our three locations. Our walls pay tribute to family members of employees who serve in the U.S. Military, as well as our employee veterans. When we learned of the Red Shirt Fridays movement, all employees were encouraged to wear red to show support for our servicemen and women. Employees had the opportunity to purchase red shirts at a 75% discount, subsidized by Seminole. Now wherever you look on a Friday, you see Seminole employees in red, proudly supporting our troops.

This is Mrs. Toons 5th grade homeroom class from Mission Intermediate Grade Center in Coweta Oklahoma showing their support for my husband, SPC Brian Parks, and his fellow soldier who are currently deployed to Afghanistan with the 3rd brigade 1st armored division 1-41 Infantry Charlie Company stationed out of Fort Bliss, TX. Fairfield Township firefighters wear red to support military, in remembrance of terrorist attacks

Fairfield Township firefighters won't be wearing their usual uniforms on Fridays. Instead the firefighters will be wearing specially designed T-shirts to honor those in the military and to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks. "Unfortunately, I think most people have forgotten the horrors of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001,'' said Chief David Downie. About 2,800 civilians, 343 firefighters and 75 police officers were killed just at New York's World Trade Center. The T-shirts are part of a national effort promoted by RedShirtFridays.org. That group encourages those across the country to wear red T-shirts in support of the military. "They bleed red so we wear red,'' is the group's theme, according to its website. Fairfield Township's firefighters designed their own shirt to include the 9-1-1 remembrance and received permission to wear the shirts on Fridays in lieu of their regular uniforms. The new red T-shirts have the fire department's emblem on the front. The back has an American flag, a firefighter and military figure kneeling with the words "Never Forget." "Less than one percent of the population serves in uniform at a time when the country is engaged in one of the longest periods of sustained combat in history," Downie said. "The Fairfield Township Fire Department supports our military and fellow firefighters each and every day and ask that the other 99 percent of our country do the same."

Schutzhund Dog’s Support Red Friday
In March 2006, wear Red on Fridays to show your support to the Canadian troops, was introduced by two Canadian military service spouses.
In February 2007, our club the West Coast German Shepherd Schutzhund Club started a tradition to show our support to our Canadian soldiers, during our annual invitational Schutzhund dog training event each year. To have all participants to wear Red on Friday’s either a shirt, Jacket or just a ribbon.
This year on Friday 25th February 2011, we took the support one step further, our invitational souvenir shirts were all in red for each participant.
We explained to all participants what the meaning to wear Red on Friday’s meant to us and to Canadians, and then come Friday morning, All participant, on the field training dogs were dressed in Red souvenir shirts to show their support to all soldiers.
The participants who attended the invitational annual schutzhund training event were from, across Canada, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and the Yukon the United States of America, California, to Florida.
We have been supporting the troops at out club every Friday since we started, and we hope to keep up this tradition for many years to come.
